Driver Hospitalized After Fierce Glen Rock Rollover Crash (Photos)

UPDATE: Bystanders helped free a 30-year-old driver after she fell asleep and her SUV slammed into a utility pole in Glen Rock, authorities said.

The 2011 Kia Sportage split the pole into pieces, then rolled onto the driveway of a Lincoln Avenue residence just north of Isabella Place shortly after 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, Glen Rock Police Chief Dean Ackermann said.

Good Samaritans helped open a hole in the windshield and, with the help of a blanket to cover some of the jagged edges, got the Hawthorne driver out as police pulled up.

EMS workers and police tend to the driver whose SUV hit a utility pole and landed on its side in the driveway of a Glen Rock home.
